The Netherlands wants to power trains with wind energy

Many countries are increasingly willing to use renewable energy to power their transport infrastructure, as exemplified by India, which has built a solar farm near one of the airports. The Netherlands is also moving in that direction and has just announced a bold plan to supply the entire national rail network with wind power.

The Netherlands will soon join the list of countries whose entire rail system will only be powered by wind power, and plans to do so by 2018. Eneco’s energy company Eneco and VIVENS in the rail transport sector will jointly implement this plan. Together they will strive to shift the electric traction grid to energy produced exclusively from renewable sources.

The plan is not as ambitious as it may have been, as wind farms already provide roughly half of the electricity consumed by trains, which carry 1.2 million passengers a day. The Dutch do not start this project from scratch.

Galaxy Note 4 photos leaked to the net

Although the IFA 2014 in Berlin, where Samsung plans to officially announce the latest phablet, Galaxy Note 4 will begin on Friday, but not only its photos, but also the first video recorded on the screen.

The presentation of the Galaxy Note 4 will certainly be one of the most important events at the Samsung booth, or at least it was because the Korean giant failed to prevent leakage and the network has just taken pictures of a new product posted by the site.

The photos come from advertising materials that will promote the phone and have been made by the fair services of setting up exhibitors’ stands in the exhibition halls. They are not very good quality, but you can see what the product looks like.

Much better quality is the 15 second video made by the site, which shows the working screen Galaxy Note 4.

In a few days, Microsoft will officially announce its latest smartphones, including the latest Lumia 950, but online sources continue to flood us with more information about them. Evleaks has just published the latest render of the upcoming Lumia 950 XL.

Render appeared on Twitter by Evan Blass, also known as Evleaks, which is a source of information on the latest products. We’ll be able to see the official specs and appearance of the new model in a few days, but Blass does not want to wait that long and show it again, this time with a white back panel.

The Lumia 950 will be a larger variant of the flagship model of Microsoft engineers, with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, 3GB of RAM and a 20 megapixel camera, as well as a Snapdragon 810 processor. The smaller model will receive a 5.2-inch display, 3 GB of RAM, 20 megapixels and 5 megapixels, and a Snapdragon 808 processor.

The JSF worm attacks the users of the most popular auction platform

The JSF worm, discovered several weeks ago by Check Point specialists, has begun to attack eBay auction platform users. Although its owners do everything to neutralize the threat, they are not able to cope with it. And that means that auctioned listings can be dangerous for users.

A few weeks ago, Check Point cyber security experts discovered a bug called JSF that poses a threat to eBay auction site users and could put them at risk of hacking. Although the portal is trying to fight it and has even prepared a special update to deal with this problem, these actions do not bring the expected results.

It should be explained here that JSF is an educational project created a few years ago by Martin Kleppe, which allows you to narrow down most JavaScript syntax to just six characters:,, (,),! And +. Check Point specialists have discovered, however, that a hacker can hide malicious code on the page by changing the standard JavaScript syntax to that used by JSF and place it in the product description field.

JSF does not use a standard character set, which allows it to hide from the XSS filters used by eBay. So if a user goes to a hacked auction page, the malicious code will launch in his browser.

The site has prepared a patch to eliminate the threat but experts say it has not produced any results and visitors to the auction site are still being attacked. Most of the dangers are focused primarily on auto-site pages, and what is interesting is that a large proportion of crafted listings belong to users of the highly-trafficked portal, so it’s difficult to detect them.

Google pays big money for breaking into the Chromebook

Hackers, although commonly believed to be operating in the shadows, actually do many security breachers work officially, looking for vulnerabilities and thus helping to patch software and hardware vulnerabilities. Google, which wants to check the security level of its Chromebook and break it, pays as much as $ 100,000.

Technological companies, software or electronic devices, before they are released, check the security level so that it does not turn out to be a threat to users. Sometimes, however, the hired programmers are not enough, and then the outsider, ie the hacker, who is testing the product for the appropriate reward is invited.

This is exactly what Google is trying to do to secure its Chromebook. The company has just doubled the reward for searching Chrome OS exploits, which is currently $ 100,000. Interestingly, the project has been underway for a year, but so far none of the professionals has succeeded in this matter and failed to win the previous prize.

The contest rules are simple, the specialist will get the money if he proves that he has broken Chromebook or Chromebox security in guest mode.

In addition, you can earn on Safe Browsing bypass in Chrome and install malware on your computer. The presentation of such an exploit can enrich us $ 1000. For the discovery of other vulnerabilities we will receive $ 15 thousand, and Google will add something extra when we provide a patch that eliminates it.

The interesting fact is that if a hacker succeeds in donating a charity, Google will double that amount. They’re interested? For more information on the Google program you will receive on its official website, “reards / # rewards”

Only 23 GB available to the user

Unable to extend the usable memory in Samsung Galaxy S6 may prove to be a bigger problem than we thought. It has been revealed that for a model with 32 GB of flash memory, only 23 GB will be available to the user and the rest will be for the operating system and applications.

On each smartphone part of the memory is occupied by the operating system and programs installed by the manufacturer, so it is no secret that only a part of it is available to the user. For models that have a slot for a microSD card, this is not a problem, as it is very easy to expand it.

Much worse is the memory-degrading models, which include Samsung’s new products, namely the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Changing the housing design caused not only the lack of battery replacement, but also the resignation of the microSD card slot.

For this reason, in a 32-gigabyte version of the hardware, only 23 GB is available for the user. For 64 GB and 128 GB, the smartphone holder will be 55 GB and 119 GB, respectively. Of course, it should be borne in mind that these parameters may vary slightly from market to operator.

Double water cooling from ID

It is not uncommon for some manufacturer of a cooling system to prepare a set that simultaneously cools the processor and graphics card. However, this was done by ID-Cooling, which developed the Hunter Duet Integrated AIO that supports both components.

The new ID-Cooling product is definitely more convenient because you do not have to install two independent CPU cooling systems and a powerful graphics card. Here it has everything integrated in one kit that handles both tasks.

The product consists of a 240 mm heat sink with two 120 mm fans, a water block with an integrated processor pump, and the same graphics card. In addition, the graphics card block features a 90 mm fan to improve heat dissipation efficiency. The 120 mm coolers on the radiator are SF-12025 models operating at speeds from 800 to RPM and providing a throughput of 84.5 CFM. However, we do not know what parameters are 90 mm windmill.

All three components are connected to each other by three cables going to the cooler: two of them are 250 mm in diameter and the third cable coming back from the cooler to the graphics card is 380 mm long. Of course, for greater security, they were covered with rubber.

The processor block supports the LGA2011, LGA1150, AMD’s FM2 + and AM3 + cradles. The graphics card block has mounting holes 58.4 x 58.4 mm, 53.3 x 53.3 mm and 51.0 x 61.0 mm and fits most graphics cards. It is worth to check its compatibility before buying.
